The Volvo XC60 Drive-E introduces a new and more efficient engine and transmission. By Samuel Ee

SOME carmakers have so-called eDrive technology but Volvo has Drive-E. Apart from the key vowel at opposite ends, there is one important difference - Volvo Drive-E does not refer to electric drive but merely the drive-efficiency of its new but still conventional powertrain.

But the big surprise is that the Swedish carmaker's latest petrol engine and transmission are extremely, well, efficient.
