IF there's one thing that Singaporeans haven't seen much of lately, it's tourists. And as most people get excited at the thought of being able to travel again with the opening up of Vaccinated Travel Lanes, the reverse is also true - foreigners being able to come to Singapore and get their fill of the Merlion and rediscover the joys of a Duck & Hippo tour. Of course, the million-dollar question is, will visitors come back? And when?
In tomorrow's BTLifestyle, we speak to hospitality and tourism experts on what it will take for Singapore to get back to pre-pandemic visitor numbers. While it's clear that it will be a long time coming, we look at how the industry is working to get the ball rolling again and what new attractions and activities are in place to woo travellers back to the Lion City.
Meanwhile, in the arts, we head to the National Gallery for a retrospective of the works of Chua Mia Tee, the respected Singaporean artist well known for his realist paintings that captured Singapore landscapes in the 50s and 60s. And in Dining, we head to the French countryside for a taste of Michelin-starred chef Julien Royer's earthy, bistro fare at his newest restaurant, Claudine.
