CALL it a happy reunion, if you like. German sportswear giant adidas, which used to design and produce jerseys for Manchester United from 1980 to 1992, kicked off its new ten-year deal with the English Premier League (EPL) club in some style earlier this month.
The Red Devils' new home jersey, launched globally on Aug 1, has been flying off the shelves. The famous red shirt retails for as much as S$109 in Singapore, and fans have snapped them up in droves.
A white version of the jersey (worn during "away" matches when there is a colour clash with the home team) went on sale earlier this week, and a third shirt, a black one, will be launched later this month.
