20 homegrown acts on one stage
ONE of the biggest showcases of Singapore music will take place this Saturday when 20 homegrown acts share the stage for NEXT. The 10-hour extravaganza is co-organised by arts and creative non-profit, The RICE Company Ltd (TRCL) and its subsidiary Global Cultural Alliance Ltd; together with entertainment company Music & Movement (M&M) Pte Ltd and concert promoter UnUsUaL Pte Ltd.
The eclectic lineup includes emerging pop talents such as LEW, Lin Si Tong and The Apex Project; playing alongside more established names such as Jack and Rai and Jessica Soo. Old-timers such as Matthew & The Mandarins and Art Fazil are also some of the more recognisable names on the bill.
More than just a concert, NEXT aims to be a platform for young talents to get a head start with help from veterans in the industry. Like the Singapore Rhapsodies and ICON concerts - which celebrate young stars of today and local music icons respectively - the upcoming gig is also an initiative of the Sing50 Fund which aims to promote and preserve our country's music heritage.
