Pick of the Week
>Ceramicship: Touted as the high point of an ongoing conversation between five South-east Asian ceramic artists, Ceramicship is a platform for each artist to showcase their works; current and recent. The exhibition will feature the works of five clay artists, each from a different Asean nation.
More than just an opportunity to display their works, the exhibition creates the chance for each artist to grow and develop in new areas through self-awareness and the examination of their materials and methods. The exhibition also highlights the history, culture, traditions and techniques unique to each artist's country.
The artists combine both traditional and modern aspects of ceramic art in this showcase. The artists presenting their works are Ahadiat Joedawinata of Indonesia, Alvin Tan Teck Heng of Singapore, Bathma Kaew-Ngok of Thailand, Jon Lorenzo Pettyjohn of Philippines and Peter Low Hwee Min of Malaysia.
