Sharapova on the brink after another setback

THE upsets continued on the fourth day of the BNP Paribas WTA Finals on Thursday as World No 2 Maria Sharapova slumped to a second consecutive defeat - this time to Petra Kvitova, who won 6-3, 6-2.

After easily taking the first two games of the match, Sharapova surprisingly lost her groove and now faces an uphill battle to make it even to the semi-finals.
