A NEW income stream is emerging from the digital economy, one that is convincing many to give up their day jobs and play games for a living. But it's not e-sports.

Singapore-based platforms are selling gaming access to users in Asean, which allows games to trade in digital assets for fiat money. Could this be a sustainable way for some to earn their keep, or is this capitalising on "desperate labour"?
