Market's shift from growth to value may continue this week

LAST week, US stocks continued their divergence as the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a record high while the growth-sensitive Nasdaq Composite failed to recoup its April losses.

The shift from a growth market to a value market may continue this week as April services and consumer data will reveal the extent to which March weather was behind recent weakness. Only Friday's jobs report justified the bets that traders had placed in the last year or so on an economic rebound.
