India strikes balanced deal with former close friend Russia

WHEN Russian President Vladimir Putin came for the 15th Annual India-Russia Summit last week, the beleaguered former superpower hoped to gain more than it offered. Though Russia had an impressive list of benefits to offer the Indian side, on closer examination the gain was more evenly balanced with the Russians needing the trade-offs more than the Indians.
