HDB resale prices flat in December; volume down by 4.3%


RESALE prices of Housing & Development Board (HDB) flats remained largely unchanged in December 2015 from November, data released by SRX Property on Thursday showed.

Resale prices of three-room and four-room HDB flats rose by 0.3 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively, while those of five-room and executive flats fell by 0.4 per cent each.

Year on year, resale prices fell by 1.3 per cent in December 2015 from December 2014. They were down 10.7 per cent from the peak in April 2013.

Resale volume also fell slightly. Some 1,404 resale flats were sold in December 2015, 4.3 per cent less than the 1,467 units transacted in November.

Year on year, resale volume increased by 8.4 per cent, compared to 1,295 units resold in December 2014. It was down by 61.5 per cent from the peak of 3,649 units in May 2010 at the height of the heated property cycle then.
