Europe: Stocks open lower

[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets retreated at the start of trading on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.4 per cent to 6,816.49 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 also shed 0.4 per cent to 10,655.92 points and the Paris CAC 40 lost 0.1 per cent to 4,544.09 compared with the close on Friday.
