Hong Kong ends strong week with flourish
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks ended a strong week on a high on Friday as hopes for global central bank stimulus were boosted by data showing China's economy grew more than expected in the second quarter.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.46 per cent, or 98.19 points, to close at 21,659.25 - piling on more than five percent in five days.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended flat, edging up 0.28 points to 3,054.30 - and putting on 2.2 per cent over the week.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.30 per cent, or 6.20 points, to 2,038.73, but has risen 1.3 per cent since last Friday.
