Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks close down
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks closed down Wednesday, tracking a regional sell-off on escalating tensions over North Korea, and after China factory gate inflation came in slightly below forecast.
The Hang Seng Index finished down 0.35 per cent, or 97.82 points, at 27,757.09.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.19 per cent, or 6.30 points, to 3,275.57, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.34 per cent, or 6.39 points, to 1,885.55.
