Hong Kong: Stocks close up 2.1%
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks ended sharply higher Friday as Chinese trade data came in better than expected despite the tariff war with Washington and following the previous day's heavy losses.
The Hang Seng index jumped 2.12 per cent, or 535.12 points to close at 25,801.49.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.91 per cent, or 23.45 points, to 2,606.91, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.19 per cent, or 2.46 points, to 1,296.36.
