Hong Kong: Stocks open slightly lower on Wednesday


[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks dipped at the open on Wednesday as investors returned from a public holiday to cash in healthy gains made in the previous two trading days.

The Hang Seng Index eased 0.09 per cent, or 26.24 points, to 30,782.21.

But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.17 per cent, or 5.18 points, to 3,087.41 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.23 per cent, or 4.06 points, to 1,780.19.
