Hong Kong: Stocks open with gains on Wednesday


[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened with gains on Wednesday morning, as cautious traders kept watch on the Chinese yuan.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.83 per cent, or 216.64 points, to 26,389.55.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.10 per cent, or 2.71 points, to 2,723.72.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.15 per cent, or 2.10 points, to 1,387.19.
