Singapore shares begin afternoon trading on positive ground; STI at 3,421.78

SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Tuesday afternoon in positive territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,421.78, up 0.2 per cent, or 6.96 points, on the day as at 1.02pm.

Losers outnumbered gainers 173 to 148, or about seven down for every six up, with 845.9 million shares worth S$449.6 million traded.

Among the active stocks, Rowsley entered the afternoon session down 0.74 per cent, or S$0.001, at S$0.135 with 210.7 million shares traded. Asti was the second-most traded with some 38.6 million shares changing hands at S$0.086 apiece, down 2.27 per cent or S$0.002.

Active index stocks included DBS Group Holdings, up 0.81 per cent or S$0.2, at S$24.93; and Singtel, down 0.55 per cent or S$0.02, at S$3.62.
