Singapore shares open 0.2% up on Tuesday

SINGAPORE stocks opened 0.2 per cent higher on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index rising 4.78 points to 3,170.48 as at 9am.

About 44 million shares worth S$44 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1 per share.

The most actively traded counter was Sincap, unchanged at S$0.010 with 6.7 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Cacola and Nico Steel.

Gainers outnumbered losers 78 to 39, or about two up for every one down.
