Singapore shares open up on Friday
SHARE prices in the Singapore bourse opened higher with the key Straits Times Index up 4.42 points at 3,266.26 as at 9am.
Some 45 million shares worth S$130 million were traded with 74 counters up and 32 down.
Traders may get inspiration from Wall Street's relentless climb which some analysts have described as being on the "verge of a meltup".
Overnight Thursday, the Dow Jones closed at a record after gaining 0.5 per cent while the S&P 500 index finished up 0.6 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.8 per cent.
