Singapore stocks: STI resumes Wednesday afternoon trading higher at 3,082.64, up 1.6% on day

SINGAPORE stocks resumed afternoon trading in positive territory on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index rising 48.33 points, or 1.6 per cent to 3,082.64 as at 1.01pm. 

Gainers outnumbered losers 214 to 99, after about 461.3 million shares worth S$439.3 million in total changed hands.

The most actively traded counter was Allied Tech, which lost 4.8 per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent to two Singapore cents, with 37.3 million shares traded. 

Other active index stocks included YZJ Shipbuilding which rose 4 per cent to S$1.31; and Genting Singapore which was up 2.7 per cent to S$0.955.
