Tokyo: Shares close down on profit-taking

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares gave up early gains and closed down on Tuesday as investors locked in profits following two days of gains.
The Nikkei 225 index edged down 0.02 per cent, or 3.72 points, to 21,505.31 while the broader Topix index lost 0.25 per cent, or 4.12 points, at 1,611.69.
