Tokyo: Shares open flat despite Wall St rally

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened flat on Tuesday, as the yen held its strength against the dollar, and despite a rally on Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange edged up 0.06 per cent, or 11.84 points, to 18,927.86 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was up 0.13 per cent, or 2.04 points, at 1,533.32.
