Tokyo: Shares open higher on Friday

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened higher on Friday after dimming expectations for an imminent Federal Reserve interest rate increase boosted US stocks.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.33 per cent, or 53.73 points, to 16,458.74 in the opening minutes of trading. The Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.25 per cent, or 3.30 points, at 1,304.41.
