Tokyo: Shares open higher on Monday

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened slightly higher on Monday as the US dollar edged up against the yen.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.13 per cent, or 22.42 points, to 17,207.01 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section was up 0.09 per cent, or 1.22 points, to 1,366.51.
