Tokyo: Shares open lower after two days of gains

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower after two straight days of gains on Tuesday, following a weak lead from Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.87 per cent, or 149.09 points, to 16,985.28 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares fell 1.01 per cent, or 13.99 points, to 1,367.86.
