Tokyo: Shares open lower on weaker oil prices

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened 0.22 per cent lower Thursday, following a weak lead from Wall Street on a drop in oil prices.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange dropped 43.50 points to 19,894.63 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares lost 0.12 per cent, or 1.90 points, to 1,600.36.
