Tokyo: Shares track Wall Street down

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares fell on Wednesday after Wall Street took a hit on declining oil prices, while traders are also fretting over the outlook for US interest rates.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange's benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.69 per cent, or 114.80 points, to close at 16,614.24.

The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.62 per cent, or 8.25 points, at 1,314.74.
