Tokyo: Stocks close at three-month high
[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed at a three-month high on Monday, leading a broader regional rally with Uniqlo operator Fast Retailing, a market heavyweight, surging on a batch of relatively strong sales figures.
Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei 225 index advanced 0.66 per cent, or 111.95 points, to 17,037.63, closing above 17,000 for the first time since the end of May.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares added 0.23 per cent, or 3.09 points, to end at 1,343.85.
