Tokyo: Stocks close down 0.95% on profit taking

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks dropped 0.95 per cent on Friday as profit taking erased earlier gains in a day of see-saw trading, with the benchmark Nikkei sitting in positive territory at the morning break.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 185.49 points to finish at 19,285.63, while the Topix index of all first-section shares dropped 1.02 per cent, or 16.04 points to 1,552.78.
