Tokyo: Stocks close up 0.42% after China-linked sell-off

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks staged a modest rebound on Tuesday, with the benchmark index closing up 0.42 per cent as investors jumped back into the market after a China-linked selloff the previous day.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose 75.92 points to finish at 18,207.15, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.30 per cent, or 4.53 points, to 1,499.28.
