Tokyo: Stocks end lower; Toshiba down on share issuance

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks ended lower on Monday, weighed down by a higher yen with Toshiba plunging after the embattled Japanese conglomerate announced plans to issue new shares.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.60 per cent, or 135.04 points, to 22,261.76, while the broader Topix closed down 0.23 per cent, or 4.11 points, at 1,759.65.
