Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Tuesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday, following record closings in Europe and the United States on a rally in oil prices.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 gained 0.45 per cent, or 88.49 points, to 19,958.34 in the first few minutes of trade, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.50 per cent, or 7.94 points, at 1,587.94.
