Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wednesday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday with investor sentiment buoyed by reports of strong corporate earnings and the Dow's fifth straight record close.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.41 per cent, or 81.77 points, to 20,067.56 in the first few minutes while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.40 per cent, or 6.47 points, at 1,634.97.
