Tokyo: Stocks slump in opening trade

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks slumped at the start of trade on Friday, breaking a three-session winning streak after a weak lead from Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 1.13 per cent, or 190.66 points, to 16,720.39 in opening deals.
The broader Topix index of all first-section shares eased 1.30 per cent, or 17.87 points, to 1,353.48.
