Certis' manpower plug: more tech and services

SECURITY firm Certis Group is leveraging technology and expanding its services in the face of a longstanding manpower crunch in the industry.

According to the 2018 report by the Ministry of Manpower, security guards ranked at the top among non-PMET (professionals, managers, executives and technicians) roles in terms of job vacancies, along with cleaners and shop sales assistants, and demand for these jobs was on a decline.

"Through the last few years, we noticed a labour shortage and increased wages so we wanted to solve these challenges by providing more services to our customers," said Ronald Poon, chief executive for Singapore at Certis.
