Europe divided over taxing of big US corporations

While some countries are happy to recoup back taxes, others would rather the companies keep all or some of their tax breaks as long as they bring prosperity

The tax debate re-surfaced on Thursday when European commissioner Margrethe Vestager said she might look into the US$185 million tax settlement recently reached between Google and the UK government. Critics say Prime Minister David Cameron let Google off too easy.
