SingTel offers new cloud communications service
LOCAL telco Singapore Telecommunications last week upped its cloud services play by launching a Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) offering which sits in the cloud.
UCaaS is designed for enterprises looking to shift from traditional PABX systems to a consumption-based communications model. As it is hosted in the cloud, the service can be deployed quickly, avoiding the long provisioning lead times associated with traditional infrastructure implementations.
Calling it an integrated cloud communications service for enterprises in Asia-Pacific, SingTel's Bill Chang said that the service comprises a hosted suite of products that include voice, video, messaging and presence.
