Sony says cutting another 1,100 jobs in mobile business
[TOKYO] Sony said Wednesday it would cut another 1,100 jobs in its mobile phone business, as it chops away at struggling units in a bid to claw back to profitability.
The company had previously announced it was cutting 1,000 positions at the mobile arm.
"Including the 1,000 job cuts that we announced earlier, we are planning a combined total restructuring of 2,100 jobs," Sony chief financial officer Kenichiro Yoshida told a news briefing.
