Terminal 4 a test bed for new concepts

It will introduce self-service options, reduce staff needed

[SINGAPORE] Changi Airport's Terminal 4, which broke ground yesterday, will bank on design and technology to run more productively against the backdrop of a tight labour market.

The terminal, which will open its doors in mid-2017, will be used to test new concepts that could eventually be rolled out on a larger scale at the upcoming Terminal 5, which is set to come onstream in the mid-2020s.

Self-service options - from check-in to baggage drop off and automated immigration clearance - will be introduced...
