Singapore

ONCE played in pubs by working class folk over copious mugs of beer, the game of darts has evolved into a glitzy affair - with world championship events, big prize money, and millions of television viewers worldwide. The beer, however, has thankfully remain unchanged.

This weekend, Singapore plays host to the World Series of Darts for the first time. The world's top eight players have flown in, and are competing for a cash prize of US$100,000 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium tonight.
