SINGAPORE'S Land Transport Authority (LTA) has struck a deal with SBS Transit and SMRT Buses to run 11 packages of bus services for about S$7.2 billion.
The contract sums, paid by LTA to run the existing 273 bus services, were arrived at through negotiations with the operators, said LTA on Thursday evening, after the close of trading. Both operators have welcomed the move.
