THE transformation of transportation has begun, and its course is irreversible. The use of combustion vehicles has drawn attention from an increasing number of governments, consumers and companies looking to combat air pollution and climate change.

In China, for example, one-third of pollution comes from gas and diesel-burning engines. Similarly, deaths due to air pollution in India and China have already reached a million per annum and continue to rise. At the same time, technological advances in energy management and materials, together with anti-pollution regulation and increased awareness of climate change, are paving the way for low to no-emission vehicles.

The expansion of e-vehicles, or EVs will create new markets that will benefit from this emerging megatrend, offering opportunities for investors. This makes us optimistic about the future of EVs.
