Aviva property fund suspends trading due to Brexit sell-off

Published Tue, Jul 5, 2016 · 03:30 PM

[LONDON] Aviva Investors suspended trading in its commercial property fund on Tuesday, blaming a surge in redemption requests amid uncertainty on the markets following Britain's vote to leave the European Union.

"The extraordinary market circumstances... have resulted in a lack of immediate liquidity in the Aviva Investors Property Trust. Consequently, we have acted to safeguard the interests of all our investors by suspending dealing in the fund with immediate effect," the company said in a statement.
