Bank charges for corp deposits expected to grow Asia money market

A GROWING reluctance among banks to hold large corporate deposits is adding to calls for the development of a commercial paper market in Asia.

Banks are in discussions with corporate clients about charging for demand deposits as they look to improve their liquidity coverage ratios (LCR) under the Basel III rules.
