Diversity panel chief says Singapore's reputation and edge could be hurt by its falling behind peers

THE government is supporting the Diversity Action Committee's (DAC) call for Singapore-listed companies to report on diversity policies and targets, or provide an explanation if they fail to do so, Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin said on Wednesday.
The DAC's recommendations will push companies to publicly address the issue of diversity without prescribing quotas. There is also a threat of stronger regulatory action if progress is lacking.
