MALAYSIA'S Maybank is opening a branch in Kunming in Yunnan province, its fourth in Greater China, a region where pre-tax profits and gross loans rose by about a third last year.
The bank said the move is strategic not only because of China's potential, but also because the south-western province is well positioned as a gateway to South Asia and to Asean.
