Not all banks are evil, and so TransferWise comes a-calling
It is looking to sell its remittance service in Asia-Pac by integrating it with the existing services of region's banks
Singapore
ONCE a brash provocateur of banks, TransferWise is now hoping to cosy up with more banks in the Asia-Pacific, with its head of global banking partnerships having engaged with a dozen banking partners in the region in the last couple of days to try to sell its remittance service by integrating it with the banks' existing services.
This would tap into a remittance market in the Asia-Pacific that is roughly worth US$256 billion, and comes as TransferWise has already tied up with four digital banks in Europe - including Monzo and N26 - to have its international transfer service available in these challenger banks' apps.
