1MALAYSIA Development Berhad (1MDB) is not only the most investigated firm in Malaysian history (in the words of its president and group executive director Arul Kanda), it has also in recent months become the most prodigious issuer of press statements.
On average, the troubled state-backed firm has issued an astonishing thirteen press statements a month since May this year; the numbers peaked in June and September with 21 and 14 press releases respectively.
