ONE of the main appeals of warrants is the gearing they offer - if the underlying shares rise or fall by a certain percentage, the effect is magnified in the associated warrants because of the gearing and therefore traders can earn a higher return.
This week's feature however, is unique because it is a warrant that is not listed. Odd though this may seem, such instruments have been around for a while and the reason for their use will be discussed later.
The latest unlisted warrant was issued by AA Group, which is a company based in Sungei Petani in Kedah that specialises in cold forging technology to make high precision metal sheet parts used in hi-fi loudspeakers such as those sold by famous names such as Bose and Blaupunkt.
