Bank of Singapore shuffles leadership team in Hong Kong
RICKIE Chan, the former chief executive of Credit Suisse’s Hong Kong branch will join Bank of Singapore as head of private banking for Greater China, Hong Kong branch next year.
Meanwhile, Teresa Lee, the current head of Greater China, will become the vice-chair of Greater China, Hong Kong branch. Both Chan and Lee’s appointments will be effective from Feb 15, 2024, the Bank of Singapore said on Monday (Dec 4).
Chan, who will join the bank’s management committee, will report to Bank of Singapore chief executive Jason Moo, while Lee reports to Moo on a functional basis.
In their new roles, Lee and Chan will develop strategies to grow the Bank of Singapore franchise in the Greater China region, in particular, deepening relationships with ultra-high net-worth individuals and families.
While at Credit Suisse’s Hong Kong branch, Chan was concurrently CEO and head of global wealth management for Greater China. Before Credit Suisse, he held senior leadership roles at Barclays Bank and Goldman Sachs private bank in Hong Kong.
Moo said the strategic appointments are part of the bank’s efforts to entrench its leadership in Hong Kong.
